A prolonged dry spell in Koppal district affected Kharif crops, with farmers reportedly hiring water tankers to protect their drying fields. Crops including cotton, pulses and oilseeds were affected by the shortage of rainfall, while low water levels in borewells and irrigation tanks added to farmers’ difficulties.
